American Political Conservatives Believe No Cost Is Too Much To Preserve The Second Amendment

I believe as the title of this Roland Hansen Commentary puts forth that American Political Conservatives believe no cost is too much to preserve the Second Amendment of the Constitution of United States of America.

Parental Abandonment

"Imagine rearing your children to adulthood only to lose them. If this thought provokes an emotional response in you while reading about it, you can only imagine what it is like to endure it.

Judy Rosenberg Hansen for Washington Local Board of Education

It is time to bring respect and decorum back to the Washington Local Board of Education in Lucas County, Ohio. Too much controversy and unrest within the Washington Local Schools community has gone on for far too long. Because there is now a vacancy on the school board, an opportunity exists to bring honesty of purpose to replace the pandemonium that has plagued Washington Local Schools for the past three years. Judy Rosenberg Hansen would be an excellent choice to be on the five member Washington Local Board of Education.

If you recall, I had previously written about Patrick Hickey back on December 27, 2015 when I published the Roland Hansen Commentary entitled Patrick Hickey. Toledo, Ohio: Washington Local School District. Superintendent. Saga, Legacy, Scandal, Shame? and again on February 18, 2016 when I published the Roland Hansen Commentary entitled Toledo, Ohio: Washington Local Board of Education; Patrick Hickey, Superintendent; Washington Local School District. Embarrassment. Scandal. Shame.

It was not long after Patrick Hickey reluctantly and involuntarily vacated the Superintendent position of Lucas County, Ohio's Washington Local Schools in December 2015 that he proclaimed he would run for election to be one of the five members of the Washington Local Board of Education.

And in 2017, run for election he did! And won! More controversy ensued as Patrick Hickey had been banned from school property.

Now, most recently, we have learned that charges have officially been filed against Patrick Hickey in Michigan's Lenawee County District Court, and that Patrick Hickey has resigned his elected position as a member of the Washington Local Board of Education.

The departure of Patrick Hickey from the Washington Local Board of Education creates a vacancy. As such, the remaining four elected Members of the Board are charged by state statutes of the Ohio Revised Code with the authority and responsibility to appoint a replacement to the seat formerly held by Patrick Hickey.

Judy Rosenberg Hansen would be an excellent replacement to this seat on the Washington Local School Board.

Judy Rosenberg Hansen's previous related experience includes having been elected to three 4-year terms for a total of 12 years on the Governing Board of Lucas County Educational Service Center, now known as the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West and formerly known as the Lucas County Board of Education. The Washington Local School District is one of the several school districts that lie within the service area and jurisdiction of the Educational Service Center to which Judy had been previously elected to its Governing Board and on which she also served some periods of time as its Vice President and President.

In addition to having served 12 years on the Governing Board of Lucas County Educational Service Center, Judy also served 8 years on the Penta Career Center Board of Education. Penta Career Center is a public vocational high school and adult education center, not unlike Washington Local Schools Whitmer Career and Technology Center.

During her years of service on the Governing Board of Lucas County Educational Service Center and on the Penta Career Center Board of Education, Judy Rosenberg Hansen was also an active member of the Ohio School Board Association, the National School Board Association, and the Association of Educational Service Agencies.

With integrity, honesty of purpose, dedication of service to public education, commitment to community, and a proven track record of experience, Judy Rosenberg Hansen would definitely be an excellent choice for, and an asset to, the Washington Local Board of Education.

Rather than scribing a stand-alone Roland Hansen Commentary in regards to the topic of Respect, the President of the United States of America, and Donald J Trump, I am placing below a copy and paste of some dialogue that has taken place on the Facebook walls of mine and a couple Facebook friends of mine, who just happen to be from my Whitmer Senior High School Class of 1965. 

I advise you upfront that it is a very long read; however, you may find it interesting in that it is a perfect example of my thoughts and the thinking of those who disagree with my perspective on the sublect of Donald J Trump,  Respect, and the President of the United States of America.

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Repeal Time.

The full and complete text of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution as adopted on December 15, 1791, and as it still reads today, is as follows:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Cambridge Dictionary Online defines militia as

a military force that operates only some of the time and whose members are not soldiers in a permanent army: Each militia represents one of the country’s political factions.

That sure sounds like the definition for the National Guard in the United States of America to me.

Cambridge Dictionary Online has this definition of National Guard:

the state military force that is available for service in state and federal emergencies

And, the following is the National Guard definition from Collins Dictionary Online:

National Guard in the U.S., the organized militia forces of the individual states, a component of the Army of the U.S. when called into active federal service

In the United States, the National Guard is a military force within an individual state, which can be sent on a mission by either the state or national government if there is an emergency.

That brings me to this:

Putting into the perspective the times of today as compared to the times of 1791, it is my opinion that the time is now to Repeal the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution.

On both of my two blogs, i.e. Roland Hansen Commentary and Roland's Ramblings, I have written on several occasions about how damaging Facebook and other internet social media can be to relationships with family and friends. And, I have also written many times before about fake friends as opposed to real friends.

Well, guess what! No, don't guess; I will tell you.
This is another of those times; and, this time it combines the two topics of Facebook being a medium for damaging social relationships and of fake friends.

This one, my readers, is going to be a long, long story, in part because it contains detailed word-for-word electronic communications that have transpired. And, of course, I have to add my own commentary.

This Roland Hansen Commentary blog entry concerns a fellow by the name of Jerry Robert Rosen, a 71 year-old man who presently lives in a suburb of Tampa, Florida.

Before I go into all the details, I will provide an introductory lead-in, sort of like those irritating news lead-ins ("coming up next, we will tell you about ..... ") that we hear on television when they tell you what they are going to tell you, sometimes up to three times before they actually give the story.

"Roland, ...remaining 'friends' on FB makes me a hypocrite. You seem to crave love and affection and have stated you are lonely – as has Judy ... You both seem to need friends, badly. ...when your little widget that tells you that you have been unfriended ... you will see it was me. On one hand I feel sorry for you but on the other you are an adult and should act like one."

Other countries of the world have much more strict laws concerning gun ownership than does the United States of America. But gun-loving Americans loudly proclaim that guns do not kill people, that it is people who kill people. So, tell me, why are gun-related killings in America higher than other countries that have responsible gun regulations?



When will we Americans ever learn?

Gun-loving political conservatives who stonewall the enactment of responsible gun regulations in America totally sicken me.

The Sound Of Silence

Do not be silent.

Love and War

"Make love, not war" is a phrase that I and many others often used during my younger years in the 1960s and early 1970s. It is just as true today as it ever was.

The horrors of the Vietnam War are still deeply ingrained within the inner recesses of my mind.






I remember the words I delivered in my 1962 confirmation at Shomer Emunim, when it was still on Collingwood Avenue in Toledo, Ohio and was commonly referred to as 'Collingwood Avenue Temple' or just as 'The Temple' where it had been for decades before relocating to Sylvania, Ohio. Here are the words I delivered to the congregation:
"And they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."

The world needs more love. Let's end war for all time.

Respect

Preface: 

I write this preface as a bit of an explanation due to the timeframe of what follows. This Roland Hansen Commentary blog entry has been inspired by the 'On This Day' memories notification that I received today in my Facebook account 

There was a time when I was a "snowbird" as some people call it.
I prefer the term "splitter" because while I spent the majority of my winters in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area of Arizona, I actually split my time throughout the calendar year between my primary residence in Toledo, Ohio and the second home I had owned from January 2003 until May 2015 in the 55+ Community known as Dreamland Villa in an Arizona Maricopa County Island area that is surrounded by the city of Mesa. I had selected that area of the country for my secondary residence at the urging of my brother Garry and his family who live in Mesa, Arizona. 

Back on January 28, 2011, I wrote the following on my Facebook wall:

Respect. That is a seven letter word. What is your definition of the word "respect?"

To that initial comment, I added:

Having posted that message on my Facebook wall, several comments were made by several people.

It was on January 30, 2011 that I read an interesting message about respect that my niece Charlotte (nickname of Charlie) Hansen, adult daughter of my [half]brother Garry [birthname of Garry Thomas Bogdanski] Hansen, posted on her facebook wall.
This is what she wrote:

Respect is not something your born with; it's something you earn. So many people need to realize that just because you have a few wrinkles on your face, and your skin is starting to sag, your word is not supreme. Damned snowbirds lol

Then, later, on that same day of January 30, 2011, Charlotte wrote the following comments on my Facebook wall:

I've come to notice that you act more as a psychologist than an uncle, and personally I cannot afford the time at this point in my life. As of tomorrow you will be "unfriended." ... take care and maybe consider showing your family a bit more respect. As from the many conversations I have personally held, many family members already have no respect for you.

Another Facebook memory notification that I received today was about a message I wrote on January 28, 2011, one year ago today. This is what I wrote:

I am proud to be an American. However, I feel despondent over the fact that America now has a xenophobic President.

I respect the Office of The President of the United States of America; however, I have no respect at all for the man Donald J. Trump.
