Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?

The following is a copy and paste of what I read on someone's social media page:

In a nutshell from a friend.
“An anguished question from a Trump supporter: ‘Why do liberals think Trump supporters are stupid?’
“The serious answer: Here’s what we really think about Trump supporters - the rich, the poor, the malignant and the innocently well-meaning, the ones who think and the ones who don't...
“That when you saw a man who had owned a fraudulent University, intent on scamming poor people, you thought "Fine."
“That when you saw a man who had made it his business practice to stiff his creditors, you said, "Okay."
“That when you heard him proudly brag about his own history of sexual abuse, you said, "No problem."
“That when he made up stories about seeing muslim-Americans in the thousands cheering the destruction of the World Trade Center, you said, "Not an issue."
“That when you saw him brag that he could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and you wouldn't care, you chirped, "He sure knows me."
“That when you heard him illustrate his own character by telling that cute story about the elderly guest bleeding on the floor at his country club, the story about how he turned his back and how it was all an imposition on him, you said, "That's cool!"
“That when you saw him mock the disabled, you thought it was the funniest thing you ever saw.
“That when you heard him brag that he doesn't read books, you said, "Well, who has time?"
“That when the Central Park Five were compensated as innocent men convicted of a crime they didn't commit, and he angrily said that they should still be in prison, you said, "That makes sense."
“That when you heard him tell his supporters to beat up protesters and that he would hire attorneys, you thought, "Yes!"
“That when you heard him tell one rally to confiscate a man's coat before throwing him out into the freezing cold, you said, "What a great guy!"
“That you have watched the parade of neo-Nazis and white supremacists with whom he curries favor, while refusing to condemn outright Nazis, and you have said, "Thumbs up!"
“That you hear him unable to talk to foreign dignitaries without insulting their countries and demanding that they praise his electoral win, you said, "That's the way I want my President to be."
“That you have watched him remove expertise from all layers of government in favor of people who make money off of eliminating protections in the industries they're supposed to be regulating and you have said, "What a genius!"
“That you have heard him continue to profit from his businesses, in part by leveraging his position as President, to the point of overcharging the Secret Service for space in the properties he owns, and you have said, "That's smart!"
“That you have heard him say that it was difficult to help Puerto Rico because it was the middle of water and you have said, "That makes sense."
“That you have seen him start fights with every country from Canada to New Zealand while praising Russia and quote, "falling in love" with the dictator of North Korea, and you have said, "That's statesmanship!"
“That Trump separated children from their families and put them in cages, managed to lose track of 1500 kids. has opened a tent city incarceration camp in the desert in Texas - he explains that they’re just “animals” - and you say, “well, ok then.”
“That you have witnessed all the thousand and one other manifestations of corruption and low moral character and outright animalistic rudeness and contempt for you, the working American voter, and you still show up grinning and wearing your MAGA hats and threatening to beat up anybody who says otherwise.
“Since you rarely give us an answer to why you can accept the behaviors listed, Trump supporters in 2019, we succumb to frustration and think of you as stupid, which may be INACCURATE and is probably UNHELPFUL, but it's also...hear me...charitable.
“Because if you're NOT stupid, we must turn to other explanations for your ability to admire this man, and most of them are far worse than stupidity."

Fascism, A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing.

FascismFascism is a political ideology that seeks to organize the government and economy under one centralized authority, with strict social controls and suppression of all opposition. It advocates a single-party rule, and rejects the autonomy of any ethnic group that it does not consider to be part of the nation. Typically, this ideology supports policies of nationalism and racism and solidifies power through terror and censorship. After World War I, fascist governments rose in Italy, Germany, and Spain. Their leaders (Mussolini, Hitler, and Franco, respectively) promoted the notion that national unity, military might, and the willingness to employ violence were necessary to rescue their nations from political and economic chaos.

A wolf in sheep's clothing. A dangerous person who is pretending to be harmless; an enemy who is disguised as a friend. This idiom is a warning that you cannot necessarily trust someone simply because they appear to be kind and friendly.

Back on Friday, October 2, 2015, I posted the Roland Hansen Commentary Donald Trump. Adolf Hitler. Similar Style of Political Speech.

And more recently, on Thursday, May 16, 2019, I posted the Roland Hansen Commentary Fascism in the U.S.A.

Earlier this morning, Friday, May 31, 2019, I saw the following meme that was shared on the Facebook wall of Seth Gardner of Dalry, North Ayrshire, Scotland, who is a friend of my eldest son, Adam Hansen.
I found its message to be informative; and therefore, I am sharing it here on the Roland Hansen Commentary Fascism, A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing.

Trumpland: The Country of Hatred.

I just found an interesting meme that I wish to share. It concerns the fear, the hate, the xenophobia, and the intolerance that is often propagated by Donald John Trump and his ardent supporters.

Fascism in the U.S.A.

As a Federal Republic, the United States of America was founded as a Representative Democracy.

The Statue of Liberty has historically been a symbol of Liberty And Freedom For All

However, with the ever-increasing trend of political conservatism in the United States, there has been: a rise of religious intolerance toward Islam and the imposition of the value system espoused by Conservative Christianity onto all Americans; surges of anti-Semitism sentiment and of anti-immigrant sentiment along with calls for the closing of the southern American border; a movement that stresses isolationism from the rest of the world while concurrently turning away from traditional European and South Pacific allies and moving toward political friendships with Russia, China, and North Korea; the institutionalization of a plutocracy in the Executive branch of American government as a result of the 2016 Presidential election; and with the mocking actions and words spewing intolerance, hatred, and violence by the current CEO of America's national government and his entrenched supporters, it seems as though Freedom is reserved only for selected people in the United States of America.

It is my opinion that the United States of America of today is turning away from representative democracy and is leaning more and more toward Fascism.
"Fascism is a form of radical, right-wing, authoritarian ultranationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy, which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe."

Adult Children

I was taught that words are used to convey your thoughts to another person.

In that regard, I remember one time in a university classroom when the professor stated something like this, as he lifted up a chair: "If you call this object a 'bitch' and everyone knows it by that word, then, that is what it is."

I was also once told, "Never use a long word when a short word will suffice.

As some people may know, I have been a blogger for over 15 years, having had two of my own blogs (with four different domains, two of which are no longer available), been a contributor to several different blogs and blogzines, and I have contributed to many electonic message boards since first entering the cyberworld of the internet. In the process, one person once described me as a wordsmith, which I took as an extreme compliment. That person used that term many ago as part of a response to a blog entry I had posted.

When writing, I try to use words that are concise and precise in conveying my thoughts in order that my intended thought meanings and messages are not misinterpreted or misunderstood.

Indeed, I have had several verbal face-to-face discussions with people about the use of words to concisely convey more precisely and accurately that which is meant. Several of those conversations became quite heated when the other person became aggressively defensive, turning a deaf ear to what I had been attempting to convey simply because they were so entrenched in their own entrenched lexicon. Rather than get into the details of those discussions, I now return to the title of this Roland Hansen Commentary blog entry.

It is not uncommon for me to speak of and/or write about my 40-something (in age) sons and daughter. And yet, I am continously and constantly frustrated by the fact that there is not a single word for adult children.

The Kroger Company Rx Rip-off.

For many years, my wife Judy (blog author of Judy's Jewels) and I have gotten our prescription medicines at the Pharmacy of The Kroger Company.

Well, Kroger is no longer our pharmacy of choice, not after the rip-off they pulled on us!

Here read about the rip-off committed by Kroger in Judy's own words:
"I go to Kroger to get my script and to learn my Insurance won’t cover it, $108.00 and I was in shock. But it was just a tiny tube of ointment for god sake! And to top it off, the label said it was good for 1 week! OMG, I’m going to the poor house, this is not a one time script, I have to be on this all the rest of the days of my life!!! Oh, woe is me, shut up and pay this money, but hold on a minute! My  Pharmacist came over to talk with me, and said he would try to help me. He did try and in the end got in trouble with his big bosses for doing so. I also contacted Kroger Headquarters and got no place. Not even a give a shit customer loyalty lets try and make this better. Next stop Costco, to see what they would charge me for this, $21.66 YES that is correct!!!!  No help from the Insurance either! I threw another hissy fit and vowed to get out how this is possible. Our Government and the Big Pharmaceuticals Companies set prices for citizens with Insurance and those without. So if you have no insurance at all of any kind, the amount Costco would charge for my script is $15.21."
You may read more of Judy's story about this over at the Judy Hansen Commentary blog entry of Kudos to Costco, posted on March 13, 2019.

Are you aware of "gag rules" that have prevented pharmacists from legally telling customers on how they might "save big bucks on their prescriptions if they paid cash or used a lower-priced generic." Read this:

And, did you know that the Pharmacy does not have to make you pay a higher price for your prescription medication if it is available at a less expensive than the price under your insurance. Read this from U.S. News:

Anyone may be able to save money on their prescription medicines by using GoodRX. Hey, check out this GoodRX website.

By the way, some pharmacy are unaware that you can use GoodRx even if you have insurance or medicare? Read this article from GoodRX:

Don't be ripped off by unscrupulous corporate retail pharmaceutical business practices such as my wife was by The Kroger Company Pharmacy.

Islamophobes. AntiSemites. White Supremacists. Inquisition. Hitler. Mindset Today.

Authorities in New Zealand announced that the death toll from the mass shooting at two mosques on March 15, 2019 has risen.

Reports indicate that the attacks have taken the lives of 50 worshippers and left dozens more wounded when a white supremacist opened fire and live-streamed the shootings.

The spread of hatred and intolerance toward Islam today along with a rising surge of Anti-Semitism is a reminder of the Inquisition when Christians spread hatred and intolerance against those who were not of the Christian religion.
"The Inquisition was a powerful office set up within the Catholic Church to root out and punish heresy throughout Europe and the Americas. Beginning in the 12th century and continuing for hundreds of years, the Inquisition is infamous for the severity of its tortures and its persecution of Jews and Muslims. Its worst manifestation was in Spain, where the Spanish Inquisition was a dominant force for more than 200 years, resulting in some 32,000 executions."
The same mindset that existed during the Inquistion is the same mindset that allowed the Holocaust under Adolf Hitler.

And now, that same mindset is being encouraged by Islamophobes!

When will people learn to stop repeating the horrors of history?

Trump. Hitler. Jews. Education.

Twitler Donald J. Trump does not like many groups of people and he espouses intolerance, hatred, and violence towards many different groups of people. The manner of his political speech is not very different than that which was used by Adolf Hitler ---- READ THIS ABOUT THAT!

USA Needs A Change In Government Structure

Preface

America's original 13 colonies banded together to form the United States of America. The first constitution for the United States was the Articles of Confederation which were adopted by the Continental Congress, also known as the Philadelphia Congress, on November 15, 1777. However, the Articles were not ratified by all thirteen states until March 1, 1781.

Not long after its adoption, there was a call to hold a convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. to discuss and draft improvements to the Articles of Confederation.

The Convention met between May and September of 1787 to address the problems of the weak central government that existed under the Articles of Confederation. However, most of the delegates (not all) in attendance concluded that a new system of government was needed, not simply a revised version of the Articles of Confederation.

The Philadelphia Convention became known as The Constitutional Convention of 1787. At the Convention, several plans were introduced. James Madison's plan, known as the Virginia Plan, was the most important plan. The Virginia Plan was a proposal by Virginia delegates for a bicameral legislative branch.  After much debate, several major compromises were reached at The Constitutional Convention.

Ratification of the new Constitution of the United States of America was a long, tedious process. The new proposed Constitution did not require ratification of all 13 States to take effect; it only required ratification of 9 States.

"On June 21, 1788, the Constitution became the official governing document of the United States of America when New Hampshire became the ninth of 13 states to ratify it."  Virginia soon followed with ratification on June 25, 1788, with New York quickly following on July 26, 1788, becoming the 10th and 11th States to ratify the new constitution.

The lack of guarantees of individual rights was a major impediment to the ratification process. It was not until a bill of rights was proposed by Congress in 1789 that North Carolina became the 12th State in the process and ratified the Constitution on November 21, 1789. Rhode Island had originally rejected the Constitution in March 1788 by means of popular referendum. However, in 1790 upon being faced with the possibility of being treated as a foreign government, Rhode Island called for a ratifying convention and ratified the Constitution on May 29, 1790 by only a 2 vote margin, making Rhode Island the last of the original 13 colonies to ratify the present day Constitution.

Soon after the new Constitution of the United States of America as written in 1787 was ratified, the first ten amendments, known as The Bill of Rights, were passed. As of today, there are a total of 27 Amendments to the United States Constitution.

NOW, on to my Commentary:

There have been many criticisms of the National Government of the United States of America. People have been critical of electing the President by means of the Electoral College, of the way in which Congress functions or doesn't function, of national legislative "career politicians" who have no term limits (except by means of the ballot box - that sarcasm is all mine) and whose primary interest is being elected to another term, of Presidents for everything from A to Z, of corrupt elected officials bought and paid for by special interests, ---- and the list goes on and on and on.

As you know, the United States of America Congress consists of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Right now, the House of Representatives has a Democratic Party majority and the Senate has a Republican Party majority.

The U.S. House of Representatives is based on the one person/one vote principle, with the House consisting of 435 Representatives proportionally representing the population of the 50 states. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives each represent a portion of their state known as a Congressional District, which averages 700,000 people.

The Senate is not based on the one person/one vote principle. The U.S. Senate consists of 2 Senators from each of the 50 States, for a total of 100 Senators. Unlike a U.S. Representative, each Senator represents the entire population of a State, regardless of the State's population. Consequently, a State with a small population, such as Rhode Island (1.06 million people) has an equal vote (read that as "has as much power") in the Senate as a State with a large population, such as New York (19.85 million).

The President blames Democrats for everything that isn't right in American politics, as do Republicans in general. Democrats blame Republicans. The Senate political majority blames the United States House of Representatives; and the House majority blames the Senate. It seems as though no one in the National Government will take responsibility, let alone be held accountable for their own words, actions, and deeds. And what of being responsive to the American public?

Well, I have my own thoughts on a resolution to this whole thing.

We need a new Constitutional Convention.

I say change the term of office of President to 6 years with election being in odd numbered years and limited to one term, change the term of office for members of the House of Representatives to 6 years with one-third of its membership elected every 2 years with election being in even numbered years thereby assuring continuity of government and also limited to one term, and totally eliminate the Senate. With no more worries about running for re-election, maybe those elected officials will work at getting things done rather than posturing for the next election.

The Psychology of a Donald J. Trump Supporter

Can avid supporters of Donald J. Trump, who I sometimes refer to as Trumpeteers, Trumpettes, Trumpsters, and/or Twitlerites, be analyzed using the scientific method?

According to an article in Psychology Today, one study concluded that there are five major psychological phenomena that help explain the extreme devotion and unwavering admiration of Trumpeteers for the highly unpredictable and often inflammatory Donald J. Trump:
  1. Authoritarian Personality Syndrome
  2. Social dominance orientation
  3. Prejudice
  4. Intergroup contact
  5. Relative deprivation
ref:
An Analysis of Trump Supporters Has Identified 5 Key TraitsA new report sheds light on the psychological basis for Trump's support.Posted Dec 31, 2017
The Pacific Standard publshed an article reporting that one social scientific study of Trumpsters concluded they are driven by a combination of racial resentment and authoritarianism, and that another social scientific study concluded that support for Trump is associated with authoritarian aggression.
ref:
INSIDE THE MINDS OF HARDCORE TRUMP SUPPORTERSNew research finds the president's earliest and strongest followers embody a particularly belligerent strain of authoritarian thinking.TOM JACOBS, FEB 15, 2018
Being in agreement with the findings of the afore-mentioned studies, I conclude with what could very well be a standard response on the various social media sites to Trumpeteers, Trumpettes, Trumpsters, and Twitlerites as follows:

USA under Donald J. Trump: Republic, Democracy. Oligarchy, Dictatorship, or what?

The United States of America Congress consists of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Right now, the House of Representatives has a Democratic Party majority and the Senate has a Republican Party majority.

The U.S. House of Representatives is based on the one person/one vote principle, with the House consisting of 435 Reoresentatives proportionally representing the population of the 50 states. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives each represent a portion of their state known as a Congressional District, which averages 700,000 people.

The U.S. Senate consists of 100 Senators, each of whom represent an entire state with each state, regardless of population, having 2 Senators, thereby enabling a small population state such as Rhode Island (1.06 million people) to have an equal vote in the Senate as a large population state such as New York (19.85 million).

Recently, the DEMOCRATIC Party controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill to fund and re-open the U.S. Government. That bill was not even voted on by the REPUBLICAN Party controlled U.S. Senate because REPUBLICAN Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would not allow the DEMOCRATIC Party controlled House of Representatives passed legislation to be put to a vote in the REPUBLICAN controlled Senate, stating he would not allow anything that REPUBLICAN Donald J. Trump, who became President via the Electoral College despite not receiving a majority vote of the Amercan people, would not approve.

I say that it is the Republicans, who represent a minority of the American voters, not the Democrats, who represent the majority of the American voters, that are forcing their political beliefs and agenda onto the majority of the American people. And, the Republicans are controlled by the Supreme Puppet Master Donald J. Trump.

It seems to me that American national government is following the path forged by Germany when it transitioned from government under the Weimar Republic to government under the National Socialist German Workers' Party and Adolf Hitler.

That being stated, looking at the reality of national government in the United States today rather than political ideological form of government, I have to wonder if the USA under Donald J. Trump is a Republic, a Democracy. an Oligarchy, a Dictatorship, or what.
