Mike Bell, Incoming Mayor of Toledo, Ohio

The 2009 general election has come and gone and the now former candidate Mike Bell for Mayor of Toledo, Ohio has been elected Toledo Mayor.

Over on Facebook, you will find Toledo, Ohio wants to say congrats to our new mayor, Mike Bell!!

YouTube has the video Bell reflects on win, 2010 agenda that you might find interesting. And over this-a-way, you can read a very brief article about Mayor-elect Mike Bell having named a three-member transition team preparing for his assuming the office of mayor.

While not current as of the date of this Roland Hansen Commentary, you may wish to read Michael Bell: Biography from Answers.com.

Mike Bell has a proven record of public service and a proven record as a public administrator. Now, he is about to become the CEO of a major municipal corporation. I wish him the very best in his newest position as Mayor of Toledo.

I would find it hard to believe that anyone would wish Mr. Bell anything but the best. I fear he will need it while watching a shrinking population and equally shrinking revenues, and City Council with perhaps far too many of the same returning, and city books which appears to be little more than creative fiction.

Even the best and most creative of administrators would find themselves challenged by such a situation. Let us hope that Mr. Bell is up to that challenge.

Mike has a daunting task ahead of him.

1 Fire class when more like 3 are needed.

1 Police class when we could possibly need 6-7..

And a $25 Million deficit which has ballooned to $32 Million...

And the one trick pony's insistence in raising the garbage tax to $200/yr., canceling the tax reciprocation driving even more residents away; yep a daunting task indeed. . . .

Does Mike Bell have a website where suggestions can be made to improve Toledo?

I would like to forward this article about Detroit to Mike Bell. Toledo is not as bad off as Detroit but has some similar issues. This ideas sounds crazy at first, but then most revolutionary ideas do....http://money.cnn.com/2009/12/29/news/economy/farming_detroit.fortune/index.htm

TIP,

Yes Mike Bell has a web site that anyone can find by using Yahhoo! or Google search.

That said, you have directly sent me the same versions in various forms, which in my book qualifies as SPAM.

If you are truly serious, do your own legwork; if noe, F.O.A.D.
